The closing ceremonies for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver included an artistic presentation by the 2014 host country, Russia. The concept and design for this presentation was developed by a team lead by director Andrei Boltenko. With the help of Visual act’s engineering teams the project’s artistic vision was realized.
To move the enormous 6 tonne troika a Visual act Advanced Wagon with 8 drive units was constructed. Visual act also designed and built lighting effects including the animated LED horses. With the world-known opera singer Maria Guleghina on top, the troika made a magnificent fairy tale entry.
Other items provided by Visual act included 18 zorbs with LED costumes for their operators, a magic ball and flags.
